Technological Solutions for Energy Recovery

We are exploring the potential of three smart and low-carbon technological approaches for energy recovery in the water sector: micro-hydropower, drain water heat recovery and smart network controls. To ensure that low-carbon solutions are achieved, we have adopted a collective eco-design approach in the design, installation and operation and maintenance for these technologies.

Micro-hydropower in water infrastructure

Turbine installations in water pipes to recover energy that is excess to requirements.

Smart network controls in water distribution systems

Efficiency of water distribution lies in the smart control of flow and pressure management.

Drain water heat recovery in domestic/commercial settings

The opportunity to recover heat from waste water exists in most buildings in the region.

Eco-design approach to deliver low-carbon technologies

Providing carbon (GWP) and resource (ARDP) savings in product design of energy recovery systems.
