The Dŵr Uisce team is continuing to work with Group Water Schemes (GWS) in Ireland. A fortnight ago (Thursday the 11th of January), John and Irene from the Trinity team, along with a visiting Interreg volunteer Youth (IVY) volunteer, Michele Tapparello, visited Patrickswell GWS and Ballinguiroe & Tandkarstown GWS. A feasibility study will be carried out for each GWS to assess the potential energy recovery and energy savings for the networks in each of those communities.
Managers from both schemes kindly showed the team their facilities and shared valuable information with the team about the specific schemes. The GWS technical leads were also interested in the work we are developing relating to the analysis of the potential for micro-hydropower energy recovery and other energy saving measures.
