Conference Schedule

Registration will open at 9.00am, with refreshments available to connect with exhibitors. The exhibition and workshop will formally begin at 09.30am and a series of morning and afternoon sessions with talks from a range of organisations on water and energy savings, and will close at 3.00pm. In addition, coffee and lunch breaks will take place in the showcase venue with technology providers and consultancy businesses offering services to support participants in achieving water and energy savings.

Participants in this workshop will represent different public and private sectors in Wales, ranging from small enterprises to large industry and public authorities, and representing different sectors - from food and drink, agriculture and hospitality and further afield. The focus will be upon promoting efficiency of valuable and limited resources in Wales. Due to the multi-sectoral list of attendees, the workshop format will incorporate specialist sessions. The event will address the water-energy nexus challenge in three ways:

  1. Utilising a bespoke water-energy nexus business canvas: participants will work on a personalised business canvas, identifying current and projected water and energy demands for their business.
  2. Presentations on cross-sectoral water-energy goals, drivers and support: presentations on current drivers and future opportunities to deliver water and energy savings, offsets and recovery measures.
  3. Case study discussions of water and energy savings: presentation of case studies from different sectors e.g. food and drink, industry and hospitality, from relevant business and technology providers.

The event has been developed by representatives from the three partner academic institutes, to welcome participants, outline the day and provide some closing remarks for the event.
